GKD Metal Fabrics, an advanced technical weaving mill producing versatile and beautiful metal fabrics for architectural applications, has introduced new patterns and expanded existing collections for both interior and exterior projects.
Offering similar technical properties to that of stainless steel, the new Bronze Collection of rigid/PC metal fabric for commercial exteriors and interiors is available untreated to naturally patina over time or with an optional clear coating that will maintain its warm bronze tone.
Named for the river that surrounds the fabricator’s headquarters on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Choptank is a rigid metal fabric that is a dimensional square weave but with a smaller open area that usual. Ideal as a sunshading material, the smaller openings controls the amount of natural light that can reach building interiors, contributing to reducing energy costs as well as occupant comfort.
Other new introductions include Ripple, which provides visual variation through a diagonal repeating section of the weft wire; Ellipse 52 Aluminum, with tighter dimensions and finer details now offered in lightweight anodized aluminum intended for framed interiors like railing infill, elevator cabs and other speciality projects that do not require the strength of steel; and Tigris TC-3, a new pattern originally a custom-weave that features a triplet of warp wires spaced along a straight weft.
