Revisiting its classically inspired Ming bentwood chair for Stellar Works, Neri&Hu have rendered it suitable for outdoor use through the use of a new material. Now offered in aluminum, the Ming chair pays homage to China’s historic decorative arts by mixing traditional ornamental motifs with modern Western functionality. 

The sculptural piece features two intersecting tubular aluminum elements that transition seamlessly from leg to arm, crossing paths at the back to form a shapely X silhouette.

Lightweight and open-framed, the chairs are easily moved where needed and can be stacked when not in use. Two outdoor tables with crossbar detailing – a wide café table and a dining version – complete the collection, which is offered in white, black or grey.
