Made from recycled plastic, the prefabricated PlasticRoad is lighter and faster to construct than traditional roadways and lasts up to three times as long. The recyclable modules feature a hollow core that can store water to prevent flooding. The first installation – a bike path in the Netherlands (shown) – opened this past September.
