Munich-based studio Relvāokellermann designed the Ooh seating collection for Bavarian furniture brand gumpo to be effortlessly adaptable for different typologies.

Described as an “unobtrusive family of seating units,” the Ooh collection from gumpo is comprised of minimal components that can be configured in a maximum number of ways. Free from any superfluous detailing, Ooh seating is impressive in its simplicity while offering a unique take on conventional seating.

Within the Ooh seating collection are four chair variants – a low lounger, conference chair, task chair with castors and a stool – and a flexible bench, each built on a resilient wooden panel frame with a soft and pliable backrest. The wide-set and open base offers a simple and streamlined element for the upholstered shell, creating a consistent narrative that runs through every iteration.

The Ooh bench can be specified as two- or three-seaters, with or without integrated table platforms and optional power sockets. Made from recycled plastic waste, the upholstery is both sustainable and extremely comfortable, providing an inviting perch in any setting.

Deviating from the open panel frame base is the task chair variant, which is set on a black plastic swivel base with castors, making it easy to move throughout a space; the low lounger, conference chair, stool and bench versions are lightweight enough to be resituated or repositioned in a room with little effort.

Ana Relvāo and Gerhardt Kellermann – the founding duo behind Relvāokellermann studio – have been creative directors at gumpo since 2017, and are the creatives behind the brand’s popular “normcore” series of laid-back and unobtrusive furnishings.
