Bold, graphic and cheerful, the Opticality textile collection marks the first-ever block print fabric by Vanderhurd, the London, U.K.-based design studio helmed by Christine Van Der Hurd.
Inspired by block printing since the 1990s, when Van Der Hurd began travelling to India, the new Opticality collection perfectly captures the charming imperfections that are part of this traditional process.
The collection features three patterns – Illusions, Tilt One and Tilt Two – in a total of 13 colourways and introduces an opportunity to create personalized and tailored interiors.
Combining different yet familiar geometric shapes – namely octagons and vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines – the Illusions pattern has a vivid presence. Made from 100 per cent linen, it is offered in four colourways: Tourmaline, Bay Morel, Sienna Indigo and Terra Bay.
Bold and mesmerizing, Tilt One and Tilt Two have a captivating sense of movement and will an energetic element to any interiors.
Both are made from 100 per cent linen and offered in a range of vibrant colourways – Tilt One comes in Citrine, Indigo, Lovat, Ochre, Sierra and Bay; Tilt Two comes in Alexandrite, Chilli Indigo, Indigo Musk and Terra Sky.
The Opticality collection of textiles by Vanderhurd is available in North America through Studio Four NYC and can be used as upholstery fabrics and drapery; handwoven silk rugs are also available in the Illusions and Tilt Two patterns.
