Mexican textile designer José María merges the artistry and craftsmanship from India and Nepal with his own heritage to create his studio’s bold and striking rugs.

With his latest collection, Reflexiones, María was inspired by the work of Mexican architects Luis Barragan and Mathias Goeritz, translated into geometrical figures with pronounced angles and cuts, colours and shadows.
Each hand-woven rug has its own unique expression with irregular shapes and vibrant colour palette. Often using natural materials like wool, aloe-fibre blends and cotton, María continuously experiments with techniques and traditional methods to give each piece a bespoke and eye-catching appearance.
