Utilizing textile waste left over during Offecct’s upholstery production, Italian/Hungarian industrial designer Andrea Ruggiero developed Soundsticks, a series of modules with sound-absorbing properties that can be hung in linear or radial applications.
Serving as both space divider and ambient noise buffer, the sticks are comprised of fabric scraps formed into tubes capped at either end by recycled aluminum plates, all held together without glue.
Offered in packages of eight, the sticks can be hung at varying heights and in clusters or straight or curved lines. Four colour scales are available – grey, blue, green and red – with the exact hue determined by the leftover fabric scraps used.
