When devising the Supernova wallpaper collection for Calico, Manhattan-based architecture and interiors firm Studio DB looked to the “vast expanse of celestial bodies that illuminate the midnight sky” for inspiration.

Considered by the designers as an invitation to explore beyond the physical realm, the Supernova wallpaper collection from Calico speaks to our long-sought after understanding of the universe’s secrets and its infinity.
Recalling the inspiration of the Supernova wallpaper collection – which is based on original artwork – Studio DB co-founder and principal Britt Zunino says “We looked toward the mesmerizing chaos of the night sky and then thought how enchanting it would be to envelop a room or adorn a ceiling with our vision of the cosmos.”
A smattering of dazzling stars, quasars, nebulae, constellations and more dance across the surface of the Supernova wallpaper collection, instilling a sense of enchantment and dynamic energy to any interior. “The collection sparkles and unveils the fantastical universe we’ve imagined, deeply connected to the history of astrology and the artistry of those who have reinterpreted it before us,” says Zunino.
Available in constructions that are suitable for commercial residential settings, the Supernova wallpaper collection by Studio DB for Calico is available in eight celestial-inspired colourways: Astral, Cosmic, Infinity, Passage, Pearl, Portal, Stargaze and Supernal.
