One of three new rug collections created by Italian architect and design firm Marcante Testa for Carpet Edition, Swing Floor features an asymmetrical pattern at one edge of an otherwise monochromatic expanse.
A balanced composition of colour, geometric shapes, differing heights and tufting techniques, the textural motif is conceived as the “open” end of the rug and is contrasted by a uniform band at the other end. Together, they lend the rug a certain uncontained sense of movement.
A subtle evocation of a classic houndstooth that has been broken up, Carpet Edition’s patterned Swing Floor rug is available in two colourways — Swaying Beige, which pairs charcoal grey, deep burgundy and pale blue against a rich creamy base, and Leaping Green, with honeyed tan, melon orange and pale blue accenting a forest green base.
Both variants are hand-tufted and made from 100 per cent New Zealand wool, boiled wool and Tencel and utilize hard twist, bouclé and plush pile production techniques.
