Three new styles have been added to Mohawk’s Learn & Live series of modular carpet tiles intended for educational spaces. Known collectively as Taking Steps, the individual patterns continue the complete lines overarching biophilic concepts of complexity and order, which have been shown to foster a sense of calm and wellbeing.

Necessary Action (left) and Motivated Movement (right).

Motivated Movement, a large-scale geometric formed of overlapping rectangles and squares in varying sizes, is ideal for creating harmonious yet vibrant installations in open-plan floor plans and settings. The smaller-scale Necessary Action is a classic grid formation of lines in alternating directions that can be used alone or in tandem with other patterns as a refined counterpoint.

Adopt a Plan

Balancing the two, Adopt a Plan features an intricate geometric motif that incorporates a subtle abstract twist.

The easy-to-install, tufted carpet tiles are made from solution-dyed Duracolor Tricor Premium Nylon and available in nine colourways; they are also part of the brand’s Living Product Challenge, the three are deemed Net Positive for both carbon and water.
