Tapies collection Gervasoni

Curated by designer Concetta Giannangeli, the Tapies collection from Gervasoni exemplifies the Italian furniture brand’s expertise in material research that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary experimentation.

Tapies collection Gervasoni includes sideboards and high boards

The Tapies collection from Gervasoni is a ready-made product family that includes architectural sideboards and highboards in different configurations and sizes. Maintaining a coherent and distinguished design language, the structures expertly balance geometry with craftsmanship, with every detail contributing to the whole.

A fluted concrete finish defines the Tapies collection from Gervasoni

Defined by clean and essential profiles, the volumes are given distinctive surface treatments that allow texture to take a leading role in the collection’s character and rhythm.

Made from MDF, the surface elements are finished in a painted and trowelled concrete skin, with the resulting fine vertical grooves lending a harmonious articulation to the fronts.

The pronounced vertical lines of the surfaces create a continuous and repeating pattern, which gives depth and dimension to the individual pieces, creating an instantly recognizable feature.

Another defining detail of the Tapies sideboards and highboards is the design of their bases: In lieu of conventional feet, the pieces are appointed with a trapezoidal element that seamlessly extends the storage units to the floor and reinforces their continuous and compact silhouettes.

A modern, textured cabinet with one door partially open stands against a gray wall; a round bowl sits on top, and a table with turned legs is partially visible in the foreground.

Contrasting the units’ visual solidity, barely visible slender tempered glass handles and fixed (but removable) interior shelves add a touch of transparency and texture that plays with the overall perception.

Both the sideboard (in two- and three-door versions) and highboard (in one- and two-door versions) in the Tapies collection are available in five mineral-inspired concrete colours: Basalt, Clay, Dune, Gypsum and Storm.
