Danish designer Povl B. Eskildsen applies his signature graphic simplicity to the Tradition outdoor lounge series for Fritz Hansen. A modular collection, Tradition brings refined sophistication to outdoor settings. 

Meticulously hand-crafted from FSC-certified core teak wood – a hardwood known and chosen for its natural beauty, strength and durability – each element in the Tradition lounge series elevates outdoor experiences to new levels of comfort. The teak is shaped and joined by hand to preserve its inherent elegance while also ensuring the furniture has an appealing and timeless expression. The durable wood will patinate over time, eventually taking on a charming silvery-grey hue. 

Fritz Hansen’s Tradition lounge series includes a lounge chair, corner/end and space modules, a pouffe and two tables, each of which can be arranged together in near-endless combinations. Skilled artisans form each furniture piece using seamless finger joints to give the back- and armrests a fluid look and cleverly concealed dado joints on teak end grain to provide additional durability and stability. 

An interpretation on traditional spindle furniture, the collection directly nods to classic mid-century and Danish designs that provide a function while also being visually appealing. The uncompromising designs are fitted with stainless steel fixtures and the corner/end and spacer modules and the pouffes can include seat and back cushions made from quick-dry, open-cell foam that are upholstered in all-weather and mildew-resistant outdoor fabrics.
