The Tulip pendant from Carl Hansen & Søn was originally created by Copenhagen-based lighting designer Marianne Tuxen in 2022 as part of the restoration of Carlsberg founder J.C. Jacobsen’s historic villa – specifically for the Pompeii Hall, the villa’s extraordinary conservatory that was inspired by ancient Italian architecture.

A magnificent merging of modernity with simplicity, the Tulip pendant from Carl Hansen & Søn is features an opal white glass shade with a shape inspired by the characteristic petals of the flower it is named for.

The delicate shade is made from three-layers of mouth-blown glass, which provides a uniform and glare-free illumination through its body while a small opening at the bottom focuses downward task lighting.

A solid brass suspension bar and cap merges seamlessly with the glass orb to create a visually perfect, organic whole.

At once sculptural and organic, the Tulip pendant by Marianne Tuxen for Carl Hansen & Søn makes a spectacular addition to both public and private settings, lending each a quiet and elegant source of illumination.

The Tulip pendant is available in two sizes – 17- or 37-centimetres in height – and can be applied in single pendant arrangements or clustered in groups to form scene-stealing installations.
