Moooi Carpets and leading architecture and design firm Gensler have collaborated on the new Visionary Perspectives rug collection, a five-part series by five of Gensler’s design directors that work across as many market sectors – Media, Financial Services, Hospitality, Technology and Professional Services.
For each the five rugs, the Gensler design directors have imagined a vision of the future and, translating the abstract ideas into concrete and tangible patterns these through mood boards, artwork and other creative outputs. The first chapter in an ongoing series from Moooi Carpets, the Visionary Perspectives rug collection celebrates innovation, creativity and foresight.
Inspired by the Media sector, Spotlight captures the fast-paced nature of the industry through the use of light and dark elements and texture and relief to create a rich and diverse visual experience. The bold colour palette, which includes dark jewel tones and neutrals, strengthens the depth and interest.
Tranquility references the Financial Services market and features an approachable and adaptable pattern that effortlessly balances a corporate feel with residential flair and hospitality influences. Evoking a sense of calm and timelessness through a controlled repetition of line and texture, it is available in a warm and cool palette.
The Hospitality-inspired Rugged/Refined derives its pattern from a partially sculpted geode, which brings an undeniable sense of raw organic beauty to interior settings. Warm jewel tones mix with dark slate in the sophisticated colour palette, with the free-flowing pattern creating a calm and grounding environment to support productivity and well-being.
Weft – Warp – Web was inspired by the Technology sector and references ancient weaving techniques along with the concept of the world wide web. Imagining a blending of past and future human connections, the thought-provoking and meaningful design can inspire innovation.
For the Professional Services industry, Terrestre interprets natural elements to achieve a sense of depth and movement. Elegant and artistic, the motif influences a surprising and energetic environment, while also adding in emotion to create a memorable moment for employees and visitors.
Combining functionality with forward-thinking style, each one of the five rugs in the Visionary Perspectives collection is made from three distinct materials constructions – low pile polyamide, soft yarn polyamide and wool – and offered in broadloom, rug and tile formats and five colourways.
