HDR is looking for a Landscape Architect to join our Urban Design, Planning & Landscape Architecture Studio in Atlanta, GA. HDR’s design teams work with a diverse range of clients to create vibrant places ranging from urban parks, plazas and streetscapes to health, education, science and technology campuses. This individual will augment and collaborate with a growing team of designers.
In this role, we’ll count on you to:
- Develop site and public realm design, from master planning and concept development through construction documentation
- Create illustrative concept drawings using 3D and 2D digital illustration tools, free-hand drawing and digital color rendering
- Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers and other site-based disciplines on commercial and institutionally-scaled planning and design projects
- Provide construction observation services including field observation of landscape installation and plant selection
- Provide leadership on zoning and site plan approvals, public involvement, design charrettes, development programming, and design implementation
- Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related discipline from an accredited university
- Registered Landscape Architect
- Minimum of 5 years of related professional experience
- Strong planning and design skills on urban and institutionally-scaled projects
- Collaborative experience working within a multi-disciplinary design studio
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of plant materials, terminology and planting design in urban settings
- Experience with the full range of planning and design phases including site analysis, community and site planning, conceptual development, grading, construction documentation and observation
- Significant construction document preparation experience
- Excellent communication, time management, graphic and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering with programs such as Grasshopper and VRay
- Local candidates are preferred
