Marcel Wanders is currently seeking a Product Developer to join their Amsterdam studio.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Responsible for realizing limited edition products, furniture, art pieces and lighting in high quality & Product Design production projects collaborating closely with Marcel Wanders himself
• Responsible for R&D of innovative materials and production techniques
• Owning the design process: research, , 2d and 3d technical specifications, prototyping, setting up production facilities, renderings and presentations, final files for manufacturing
• Direct contact with suppliers and producers
• Responsible for the equipment and materials stock, safety, tidiness of the workshop

Requirements & Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree at a renowned design academy or industrial product development (IPO), furniture maker
• Relevant experience as Product Developer/Designer, furniture maker
• Literacy of SolidWorks, Rhinoceros, Adobe Creative Suite and 3D Studio Max is highly appreciated
• Broad knowledge of materials and production techniques, experience in prototype supervision and quality checks
• Loves to create and spend 70% of the time in the workshop, hands on and meticulous
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems is appreciated
• Conceptual design approach to styling, colors and materials
• Project management experience, organized and efficient
• Passion for realizing the best result possible, without losing quality, time and budget out of sight
