Baird Sampson Neuert Architects (BSN) is seeking an Intermediate Level Architect who is passionate about sustainability and innovative design to join its Toronto office.

This role is an immersive position what will allow the successful candidate to gain experience across all phases of a project from concept design through completion. The position offers growth and leadership potential for the right candidate. The successful candidate will also have a keen interest in the design of research and teaching spaces for biology and life sciences.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of four years professional experience including significant experience in Contract Administration.
• Knowledge and demonstrated interest in sustainable design practices.
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the design of laboratory facilities or healthcare settings.
• Strong aptitude for architectural design and execution through to construction detailing.
• Advanced knowledge of BIM architectural modeling using Revit, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Professional degree in Architecture.
• Completion of ExAC hours and examination activities preferred.
• Self-motivated, well organized, with a demonstrated passion for excellence in design and project delivery.
• Ability to work independently, as well as contribute to a collaborative team setting.

Responsibilities

• You will be involved in all stages of projects from programming and schematic design, through to contract administration. 
• You will oversee and prepare working drawings for construction, so experience with Revit is essential.
• Project Management – You will lead and collaborate on small to mid-sized projects including coordinating the work of consultants, and effective client communication.
