The Great Repair Exhibition, Berlin

Today, the ecological crisis is no longer just an issue for environmental activists. The waste of resources and environmental destruction directly affects us all. One of the reasons for this is growth-oriented narratives of progress, which influence the almost irresolvable conflict between growth and climate protection in favour of a market economy-oriented policy.

The Great Repair” exhibition by ARCH+ in collaboration with Akademie der Künste, discusses the contradictions between growth and ecology using the material culture of architecture, presenting over 40 positions from art, architecture and spatial practices in which repair becomes tangible as a new design paradigm. It examines the extent to which a politics and aesthetics of repair can be a meaningful alternative from a postcolonial, feminist and posthuman perspective. Sufficiency, longevity, solidarity, reappropriation, plurality and care work are explored as policies of a repair society.

Located in Berlin at the Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg, free tickets are offered on Tuesdays and the first Sunday of the month.
