FLOAT Studios are currently seeking a Junior Architectural Designer who is curious about the intersection between architecture and interiors and not afraid to jump in and get your hands dirty at any moment.
The Junior Architectural Designer will have a keen attention to detail, be a clear communicator and work well under pressure. They would be a self-starter comfortable managing their daily deliverables and communicating with the project team to ensure general project goals are being met. The Junior Architectural Designer will be organized, focused, self directed and proactive.
Responsibilities:
- Work with senior architectural designer to review code, consultant coordination, and filing
- Set up files and organization for new projects
- Coordinate with the design team on the development of construction documents
- Provide program and code research, develop fit tests, and set up construction documents for development in close coordination with the senior architectural designer
- Provide material and product research, sourcing and vendor coordination
- Assist in development of design presentation documents and interior elevations for internal review and client presentations
- Generate Sketches during Construction Administration
- Manage submittal logs, field RFI’s and assist in construction administration for projects
- Coordinate construction documents with FF&E specifications provided by the design team and present survey results
- Manage individual deliverables and workflow within larger project schedules and communicate any conflicts to the design team
Qualifications:
- BArch or M.Arch
- 1-4 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, Autocad, Bluebeam, 3D Modeling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of standard office software (i.e. Google Suite)
- Legal authorization to work in the US
