Through a series of five main events, the inaugural Design Week Calgary will explore the theme of “In Plain Sight,” highlighting the unseen aspects of design and their impacts on daily life. The week’s lineup consists of a fashion experience with designer Stuart Trevor, a design-inspired film festival, an industrial design exhibit, a series of talks on design and an interactive installation. Throughout the city, partnering organizations will host 15 additional satellite events. These include SAPL architecture, CMLC, Calgary Stampede, HCMA and others. The goal of the event as a whole is to not only bring Calgary’s design community together, but also to educate the public on how design sparks creativity, drives innovation and supports economic growth.
