Hariri Pontarini Architects (HPA) is hiring an Interior Designer with 3 to 5 years of experience. You’ll be based out of their office in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, working on-site. This is an opportunity for Hariri Pontarini Architects’ Interior Designer to develop design concepts, prepare detailed drawings and specifications, select materials and finishes, and collaborate with various teams on HPA‘s portfolio. They are looking for someone who possess excellent communication skills, strong aesthetic sense, technical proficiency, and experience managing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Interior Design team to understand project goals and client needs.
  • Develop and present creative concepts aligned with project requirements.
  • Prepare drawings, floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using design software.
  • Select and specify materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures for functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to integrate design elements.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables from concept through completion.
  • Conduct site visits, resolve design issues, and liaise with vendors during construction.
  • Stay current on design trends, codes, and sustainable practices.
  • Maintain client relationships and incorporate feedback into design solutions.
  • Support proposals, marketing efforts, and ensure documentation meets standards.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in interior design or a related field, with a strong background in design development and project management
  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design from a recognized institution
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, conceptual strength, and execution across project phases
  • Knowledge of Interior Design, Art and Architectural products and materials and ability to research the current trends
  • Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing
  • Knowledge of Ontario Building Code (or other regional codes, as applicable)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Revit is a strong asset
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
  • Collaboration, communication, organization, attention to detail, multi-tasking and problem-solving
