Galerie Patrick Seguin: Charlotte Perriand x Saint Laurent poster with blue chairs

Galerie Patrick Seguin has been entrusted with the exclusive presentation of a collaboration between Saint Laurent, under the artistic direction of Anthony Vaccarello, and the estate of Charlotte Perriand that coincides with Art Basel/Design Miami Paris. The exhibition presents an exceptional set of furniture pieces by Perriand designed between 1943 and 1967 – some never produced in her lifetime, others known only as prototypes or archival drawings. Selected by Vaccarello and edited by Saint Laurent in a strictly limited edition, each has been crafted with care, using refined materials and craftsmanship to remain true to Perriand’s original vision.

Pieces on show include the Banquette (1967), designed for the Japanese Ambassador’s residence in Paris; the Bibliothèque Rio (1962), made for Perriand’s husband in Brazil; the Table Mille-Feuilles (1963), never realized in her lifetime due to its complexity; and the Fauteuil Visiteur Indochine (1943), recreated from a single surviving drawing. A reference to French modernism, Galerie Patrick Seguin now presents these pieces in Paris, offering fresh perspective and underlining their authorship, materiality and historical relevance. Together, they tell a wider story about French design, craftsmanship and the legacy of one of modernism’s visionary women.
