The jury’s choices weren’t the only celebrants at the AZ Awards Gala held at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works last Friday; it was an occasion to recognize the recipients of the People’s Choice Awards as well. And while there were a few projects the voters and the jury could agree on – Interface’s Net Effect carpet tiles for Best Interior Product, and REX’s Media Headquarters and Scott Sullivan’s Tangent Clock in the Concepts categories – for the most part Azure readers broke with our panel of experts. It’s a poignant reminder that the jury’s job is a difficult one, and the projects that took home a trophy faced stiff competition.
