The 18 patterns in Shaw Contract’s rug and broadloom Awaken series began as paintings. Ocular Sightline Table by Steelcase

Steelcase created its Ocular Sightline range with hybrid workspaces specifically in mind. In addition to facilitating easy eye contact for natural in-person conversation, each table features a tapered form that ensures everyone can comfortably see off-site colleagues being broadcast onscreen at the end of the room. But that’s not all: The tables are also designed to work alongside conference webcams like Logitech’s Sight, helping its dynamic lenses frame each participant and highlight speakers. An aperture enables easy cable management, hiding cords in the sleek pedestal base.

The Anthros office chair harnesses wheelchair tech for optimal ergonomics

With a background in medical equipment, Steven Dufresne, CEO of seating start-up Anthros, arrived at Design Days ready to disrupt the task chair market — and cure lower back pain in the process. The research-driven Anthros chair takes cues from wheelchair design, including patented pressure-relief cutouts and a tilt that promotes relaxation without compromising posture. The two-part back system allows for shoulder retraction to ease neck and shoulder pain; a lower back support props up the pelvis to prevent slouching.
