Resilient Communities

The competition “Resilient Communities” aims to foster more resilient communities that can withstand and recover from a range of disruptions.

This requires a holistic approach to community development that incorporates a range of strategies and interventions, such as sustainable design, community engagement, and social and economic empowerment.

The concept design for this competition should serve as a hub for social, cultural, and educational activities. It should be a place where people can come together to learn, create, and connect with each other. The centre should be flexible and adaptable to changing needs and conditions.

The site is located in a dense urban area with a total of 2,000 square meters. The community centre should occupy at least 1,000 square meters while complementing the surrounding urban fabric.

The design should minimize its environmental impact and promote the efficient use of resources, making use of sustainable or recycled materials. The community centre should also be accessible and welcoming to people from all walks of life, promoting social inclusion and address the needs of underserved communities.

The competition is open to all architects, designers, and students. A panel of experts in the fields of architecture, sustainability, and social equity will judge the competition. The winning design will receive a cash prize of $2,000 and will be featured in an exhibition and publication.
