Luminato Festival 2025 takes over Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre from June 4–22, with a weekend takeover from June 13–15. By day, explore Terceradix Luminarium, an immersive world of light running throughout the festival, and First Breath by Luke Jerram (June 4–8), a glowing tribute to new life. By night, celebrate the legendary Quincy Jones with Grammy Award-winning artist Larnell Lewis, experience South Asian rhythms from the Tawoos Initiative, Indigenous artists presented by Miigwech Collective, and Latin beats from Lula Music & Arts Centre. Plus, from June 13–15, don’t miss Hamlet featuring eight incredible actors with Down syndrome, giving Shakespeare’s most famous work new relevance.
The theme of the Luminato Festival 2025, DAY:NIGHT, explores how we inhabit the city in a 24-hour period. From dusk to dawn and dawn to dusk, any given day can be ordinary or extraordinary. First breath, dawn light through to last dance and final word – the 2025 programme asks us to reflect on the cycle of our collective lives and how we engage, disrupt and exist in time and space as a community. With the city as your canvas, expect compelling art in atypical spaces. Night shifts, dawn chorus, art up late through to cemetery walks. Be it the first of things or the last of things, Luminato Festival 2025 invites locals and visitors to encounter Toronto differently.
