Olson Kundig is looking for a Design Technology Lead who brings initiative, solutions-oriented thinking, and context awareness — operating inside projects to ensure that technology supports and accelerates design excellence.
Responsibilities

- Clarify scope and manage expectations by flagging misalignments, reframing vague asks, and protecting team capacity.
- Lead the development and alignment of Design Technology (DT) strategies and BIM Execution Plans with project phases, goals, and team structures.
- Mentor and support teams as a digital delivery leader, translating delivery insights into improved workflows, processes, and knowledge systems.
- Collaborate across disciplines and departments (e.g., Visualization, Interiors, Planning) to ensure DT strategies support coordination and innovation.
- Coordinate with consultants and IT to resolve modelling and interoperability issues, aligning digital tools with firm wide delivery goals.
- Deliver timely, targeted training and maintain firm wide resources like OKpedia to share best practices and strategic documentation.
- Identify trends and gaps in team skills and tools, and propose actionable solutions to improve BIM fluency and digital project delivery.
Qualifications

- Expert in Autodesk Revit and ACC, with proficiency in related tools like Ideate, CTC Tools, and the BIM Interoperability Suite.
- Skilled in managing multi-model Revit environments, supporting complex designs and diverse delivery methods.
- Familiar with full project lifecycle (Programming to CA), including BIM Execution Plans, contracts, and Scope of Work documents.
- Working knowledge of interoperability tools like Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and FormIt, with ability to assess or train workflows.
- Strong documentation skills using tools like InDesign, PowerPoint, Miro, Visio, and Prezi to develop strategic and technical content.
- Experienced in scope writing and stakeholder alignment, both formally (B101/RFPs) and informally with project leadership.
- Collaborative and adaptable leader, comfortable with ambiguity, able to influence digital strategy and coordinate across teams and consultants.
