Summer 2026

The June/July/August 2026 edition of AZURE is dedicated to our 16th annual AZ Awards — and also features the best of Milan, the New Museum’s expansion, the latest in building envelope systems and more!

The AZ Awards issue packs much more than our winners and finalists — though they certainly take pride of place. (And you can read all about them on our dedicated AZ Awards site.)

Gensler designs spaces, services and environments for organizations seeking new ways to innovate and improve the interior workplace. As a result of a diverse workplace client base and increasing project work with Clients throughout the technology sector, the firm is searching for a Junior Designer with an interest in interiors to join its team in New York.

As a Gensler designer, your job will be to combine creativity and technical knowledge to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You have exceptional design skills, a background in interiors or architecture and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will collaborate with Gensler’s broader team to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate an architect’s sketches and documents into realized 2D/3D models and image and can research artistic and/or technical issues when they arise. Your work ethic, combined with your commitment to collaboration and mentoring, makes Gensler the perfect place to nurture your career.

  • Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school

  • Outstanding graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas throughout the process.  Portfolios should include well organized examples of design work during school as well as relevant finish palates, test fitting, working visualizations, and design documentation completed during internships or previous positions.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Revit highly preferred
  • Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices
