Extell Development Company is currently seeking a Senior Designer who will join the Extell Design team, and work alongside award-winning designers and consultants as well as contribute to a variety of projects that literally change the skyline of New York City and other premier locations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
The Senior Designer creates designs and assists with the management and coordination of the design process for various projects. Responsibilities include assisting with the selection of interior designers and other project consultants; reviewing interior designers’ contract scopes; facilitating the interior design process through all stages of design; and consulting for bidder de-scope for applicable interior-related trades. The Senior Designer reviews schematic design proposals; construction and architectural documentation; and design development to include providing feedback to the interior design team regarding floor plan layouts and design for various spaces. This position redlines architectural drawings; reviews design intent for feasibility and constructability; participates in the construction administration process; participates in the submittal, RFI, and SK process; oversees punch list review; facilitates any art and FFE project needs; and ensures design compliance and integrity.
The Senior Designer at Extell reviews interior design aspects for all marketing materials; collaborates with both cross-functional teams and external consultants/vendors on various projects; effectively oversees product research and sample procurement; conducts AutoCad drafting tasks and 3D modeling; and performs other duties as assigned. This position requires working at both office/property locations and active construction sites.
Summary of Requirements:
- Ideal candidates for the Senior Designer position hold a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in interior design, architecture, or similar in the real estate industry; and a knowledge of general workflow and processes for construction and design.
- Effective communication (oral and written), interpersonal, administrative, judgment, and technical problem-solving skills are required.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk AutoCad.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam and/or Acrobat, and 3D Modeling is preferred.
