With silhouettes reminiscent of champagne-bottle stoppers, the Corker series by Swiss architecture firm Herzog & De Meuron makes a playful and timeless addition to interior environments.

Originally conceived in collaboration with Chinese artist, designer and architect Ai Weiwei as part of the 2012 London Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, the shapely side tables/stools have been recently added to ClassiCon’s stable of furnishings.

The simple yet exaggerated forms call to mind works of pop art, while the quality of the material expresses an inviting warmth and environmental sensitivity – the cork used to produce Corker comes from sustainable forests in Portugal and is 100 per cent recyclable.

Available in three sizes, each piece is milled from a single block of impregnated cork and is suitable for use in a variety of settings.
