Simple in form and diminutive in size, the Dots lighting collection by Spanish designer Martín Azúa for Vibia delivers maximum impact. Originally released in 2021, the series has remained a popular fixture in Vibia’s portfolio thanks to its versatility and charm.

When conceiving the Dots lighting collection for Vibia, Martín Azúa was inspired by the concept of a planetarium, with his initial sketches of circular shapes against a dark wall evoking an interstellar galaxy.

Refined and realized, the Dots lighting collection is a series of circular luminaires that cast points of light across a wall in four distinct ways through a unique cone cut-out in the body.

The reading lamp version offers focused and adjustable illumination via a void in the circle’s surface; with the indirect lamp, light is diffused through a concave section on the underside; the final two versions – a 360-degree surface grazer and a direct surface grazer – provide an ambient and indirect halo-like glow around its perimeter.

Installed as a singular shining star or arranged in a glowing galaxy of multiples, the Dot lighting collection from Vibia elevates the conventional wall sconce in a playful way that encourages individual experimentation.

Additionally, the Dot lighting collection is offered in a range of materials and colourways to further allow for tailoring and personalization.

Two solid wood versions are offered – natural oak and natural walnut – or the fixtures can be specified in ABS plastic that is lacquered in one of four of Vibia’s Chromatica colourways: Off-White, Sand, Terra Red or Green.
