Stockholm-based design and architecture firm TAF Studio designed the Midst conference table for Muuto to be a “meeting between the poetic and functional” that provides a spacious focal point for any professional setting.

With a deliberate rounded design, the Midst conference table does away with hierarchy, removing the perceived head of the table to give everyone a balanced and even position.

When conceiving the Midst conference table for Muuto, TAF Studio used a process of subtraction and refinement to develop the pleasing shape that encourages everyone seated around it to meet in the middle.

Inspired by an iconic architectural feature – the column – the Midst conference table merges physical stability and reliability with an understated sense of elegance. The two symmetrical columns that form the base are made from spun steel that is given a high-gloss powder-coated finish; supportive and sturdy, the vertical formations have a sense of visual lightness.

The generously sized tabletop is made from matte linoleum, which has anti-fingerprint properties, or from nanolaminate (derived from FSC-certified wood), an easy-to-clean surface that is resistant to wears and scratches.

Designed for seamless power integration, the Midst conference table can be specified with designated cut-outs that can accommodate different electrical sockets; configuration options include two circular openings at either end that align with columns for Pandora units, or a central rectangular opening to add a Central Power unit.

Both the base and tabletop of the Midst conference table from Muuto are offered in three monochrome colourway options: Black, Dark Red and Grey; and three lengths are available 330, 395 and 460 centimetres.
