With its new Pausit seating system, Arper transforms the passive activity of waiting into a uniquely personal experience, one that carves out space for people to slow down, recharge and reconnect.

Designed by Lievore Hary — a multidisciplinary collaboration between Barcelona-based architect and designer Alberto Lievore and designer Aurélien Hary — the Pausit seating system by Arper brings ergonomic comfort and versatility to transitional spaces like lobbies and airport lounges.

Defined by its superior ergonomics, sophisticated aesthetics and clever modularity, the Pausit seating system can seamlessly adapt to a range of different scenarios, fostering comfort and relaxation no matter the extent of the time spent. Featuring a number of “waiting” benches (two-, three-, four and five-seaters) and a “lounge” (chaise longue) bench, Pausit comes in a total of 12 standard configurations and has the ability to be custom designed in bespoke arrangements. A linking system allows the benches to be fixed together in linear or back-to-back compositions.

Made with a metal shell and aluminum legs, the benches can be left with the framework exposed, fitted with a seat cushion or fully upholstered; a range of finishes are offered to tailor the seating to perfectly coordinate with the intended interior.

Optional gently curved armrests (that can be added between seats or at the end of modules) and table surfaces can be included in the setups, and an unobtrusive USB Power Kit module can be mounted underneath the shell or armrest/table surfaces. The laminated plywood table inserts are offered in four different variations — lateral or intermediate and with or without armrests. To accommodate reduced mobility, the Pausit seating system features optional accessories, including an increased seat height. A range of finishes and upholstery options are offered to further customize the Pausit seating system.
