The Plissée floor lamp and pendant from ClassiCon were recently given an update with the introduction of aluminum components in a demonstration of the German brand’s appreciation for materials and effects.

Highlighting the industrial charm and timeless elegance of aluminum, the Plissée floor lamp and pendant from ClassiCon can now feature an aluminum base and stem and aluminum accent rings on the shade.

Originally designed by Sebastian Herkner in 2020 (floor lamp) and 2023 (pendant), the Plissée floor lamp and pendant are defined by the hand-blown opal glass shade, with the textured finish of the glass calling to mind artistically pleated fabrics.

Also evoking a traditional Japanese paper lantern, the Plissée floor lamp and pendant from ClassiCon create material dialogues between artisanal and industrial expressions – with the matte white saint-finished glass showcasing skilled hand-crafted techniques, and the brushed finish of the aluminum base and rings nodding to industrial production processes. Reminiscent of a delicate balloon of light, the frosted white shade emits a soft ambient glow when on; even when turned off, the subtle texture of the glass creates a compelling visual effect.

The new aluminum components for the Plissée floor lamp and pendant augment the already available finishes – brass anodized lacquered, black lacquered and bronze lacquered.

Along with the Plissée floor lamp and pendant, ClassiCon has introduced aluminum accents and elements to the Bow coffee table range by Guilherme Torres and the Bell side and coffee tables, also by Sebastian Herkner.
