Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland recently expanded his Solid table series of low-profile coffee tables for Normann Copenhagen to include new material options.
A minimalist interpretation of the ancient Japanese Torii structure – the traditional gate often found at the entrance to a Shinto temple or shrine – the Solid has an expression of purity and refinement in both its materiality and timeless aesthetic and unites Scandinavian craftsmanship with Japanese architecture.
When it originally launched in 2013, the Solid table was offered in natural ash with a white marble top. Now, it is available in Black (black stained and lacquered ash with a black marble surface) and Coffee (brown stained and lacquered ash with brown marble).
Arriving flat-packed, the Solid tables require no glue or hardware to assemble, the pieces simply lock together with the overall weight of the structure keeping it together.
Clean-lined and striking in its simplicity, Normann Copenhagen’s Solid table is suitable for use in private residences as well as in commercial spaces.
