Electric blue furniture, sparkly outer-space couture, multi-hued transparency in buildings – our trends issue, now on newsstands, basks in the colours of the coming year. Along with our curated selection of products, lighting, furniture and architecture, we interview designers Paola Navone and Dean Brown on how colour influences their work.
The October issue also explores the new office culture and how millennials – like the top brass at Facebook – are shaping the workspace environment with well-being and employee satisfaction top of mind. We present the latest in workplace furniture and technology, and we speak with Tom Lloyd of furniture design studio PearsonLloyd about how happiness and productivity can go hand in hand.
We’ve also brought together a number of exciting new projects. We take a look at Medibank’s new Melbourne office by Hassel, which places strong emphasis on getting workers up and moving with multi-coloured ramps, staircases and paths. We visit the scene-stealing Broad museum, by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, in Los Angeles, and we go inside a home that rivals an art gallery, complete with room-defining artworks by the likes of General Idea and Bill Viola.
The October 2015 issue is on newsstands now in Canada, and September 28 in the U.S.
