The University Of Detroit Mercy School of Architecture is conducting a call for submissions for edition 27 of Dichotomy following the theme “Gather”.

Dichotomy is a student published journal that strives to be a critical link between UDM students and the discourses on design, architecture, urbanism, and community development. The aim of this journal is to disseminate relevant investigations by students, faculty, and professionals.

Dichotomy 27 explores the intrinsic nature of gathering to create a collection which brings new understanding and meaning to positions within design, architecture, community development, and related fields through essays, articles and other creative works.

Final articles may be in a wide variety of forms, including projects, scholarly papers, photo essays, poetry or interviews. A 500 word abstract and imagery is due on May 1st. A notification of entries to be published will be sent on May 31st, with final submissions due September 1st. Staff will select between eight to twelve articles to be published in Dichotomy 27 – Gather for Spring of 2024.
