In support of emerging designers and artists, regardless of your design education (no degree necessary!), we welcome you to show off your creativity by redesigning a book cover within the bounds of a cover brief!  

The PRHC Design Award is an opportunity for one selected winner to receive a design mentorship with PRHC’s award-winning in-house design team, plus a $500 CDN gift card to spend at penguinshop.ca. The design mentorship will consist of six one-hour mentorship sessions (virtual or in-person) over a period of six months. Two runners-up will each receive a $500 CDN Gift Card to spend at penguinshop.ca.

We strive to publish books that nurture thoughts and conversations around the globe, ensuring that different voices are amplified. With this in mind, we welcome designers at the beginning of their careers, and anyone aspiring to a career in design, from all backgrounds, particularly those whose perspectives and lived experiences (related to identities involving race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability, religion, and age) have often gone under-told and under-shared in publishing.
