Toronto, the fourth-largest city in North America – and possibly the world’s most global city, where some 130 languages and dialects are spoken – is the host city for this year’s Festival of Architecture, hosted by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. The theme is “The Future of Architecture,” and the keynote speakers are Vishaan Chakrabarti, founder at PAU; Elizabeth Chu Richter, CEO at Richter Architects; Ivenue Love Stanley, Managing Principal at STANLEY, LOVE-STANLEY; and Bernard Plattner, Director of The Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
The festival will be attended by leaders and emerging talents in architecture and design, students, faculty and allied professionals, who will hold and participate in five days of workshops, tours, two galas, and many other events. Also on offer are 22 continuing education workshops and 16 expert-led tours of Toronto icons.
The event will be kicked off by the RAIC International Prize Gala – on October 25 – and also include the President’s Gala on October 28, where it will honour exceptional achievements and dedication to architecture.
