Sustainable architecture requires a change of thinking: How can more regional materials be used? What role do local climatic and cultural conditions, as well as true collaboration with future users, play? Lebanese-Armenian architect Arine Aprahamian’s lecture at Vitra Schaudepot explores these critical questions.
In 2022, Aprahamian was named Rolex’s architecture protege for the 2023-2024 edition of its Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative; she will be mentored by Anne Lacaton of Pritzker Prize–winning French studio Lacaton & Vassal. Her work includes the conception of dwellings for extreme climates and interdisciplinary research into materiality and spatial perception.
This talk takes place at 6:30pm.
