UQAM’s Centre de design is thrilled to host the internationally acclaimed architecture exhibition BUONE NUOVE. After traveling to Stockholm, Doha, New Delhi, Berlin and Toronto BUONE NUOVE opens at UQAM’s Centre de design in Montréal for its second North American feature.

BUONE NUOVE is curated by Louise Pelletier, Pippo Ciorra, Elena Motisi, Elena Tinacci and Lisa Landrum. This traveling exhibition features works and words of dozens of Québécois, Canadian and global women architects who have changed the field of architecture. The exhibition offers a new and more comprehensive perspective of architecture by showing how women have changed modern design.

The exhibition is presented in images, artifacts and videos via various curatorial lens: 

  • Stories of Italian Architects, featuring achievements of 21 notable Italian women architects.
  • Practices in Italy, showcasing significant built works of six internationally acclaimed women architects impacting Italian design culture.
  • Narrations, including 12 video interviews with women transforming architecture through practices of activism, scholarship, writing, curation, academic leadership, and philanthropy.
  • Local Section, featuring sixteen exemplary Québec women architects alongside an example of their work.
  • Marking Achievements in Time, showcasing a timeline of the last hundred years tracing women’s landmark achievements in architecture.
