UVA School of Architecture is excited to share a series of virtual lectures and public programs that will take place for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. Especially during this critical and unprecedented time of COVID-19 when we face conditions of isolation and physical distancing, the School of Architecture is committed to keeping the community together, while staying active and intellectually stimulated.

Architects Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi will give an online, public lecture in honor of receiving the 2020 Thomas Jefferson Medal in Architecture. The award, bestowed by the University of Virginia and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation at Monticello, recognizes the recipients’ exemplary contributions to the endeavors in which Jefferson excelled and held in high regard.

In their lecture, “Constructing Value,” Weiss and Manfredi will address how their works have transformed urban environments for the public good by creating spaces that promote ecological and social equity.
