Design Week Calgary will return for its second edition in August 2026, for three days of programming that celebrates the role of design in shaping the places, experiences and communities that define everyday life. Building on the momentum of its inaugural year, Design Week Calgary continues to create opportunities for the public to engage with the ideas, people and projects shaping the future of the city. This year’s theme, In Tune, explores the relationships between people, place and design, from the spaces we inhabit and the systems we rely on to the creative communities that help Calgary thrive. Through conversations, exhibitions and experiences, the festival invites Calgarians to discover the often-unseen ways design influences everyday life. The 2026 festival will feature a diverse range of talks, workshops, exhibitions, studio tours, installations, screenings, pop-ups and social gatherings.
Programming highlights include:
- YYC Soundscapes: In Tune with Motion, presented by Bow Valley College and National Music Centre
- A Responsive Approach to Public Art, presented by Calgary Arts Development
- Fabrication Field Trip with Carvel Creative, F&D Scene Changes and Foamworks
- Lost & Found, a light and sound installation presented by Design Talks Institute
- Streets as Studio: Where Art, Design and Community Meet, presented by O2 Planning + Design
