The Festival des Architectures Vives returns in 2025, allowing visitors to discover iconic sites in the city of Montpellier. Organized by the Champ Libre association, the festival features installations scattered throughout the city to inspire connection with Montpellier’s heritage. Each installation is created by teams of young architects to highlight exploration in new areas of environmental design.
The theme of the 2025 Festival des Architectures Vives is “La Gourmandise” (Gluttony). Usually associated with the taste buds, gluttony is analyzed architecturally with materials, shapes and spaces that transform into celebrations of desire. The installations invoke the desire to be explored, tasted with the eye and savoured with the mind. Clara Jung, a pastry chef from Montpellier, will be the patron for this edition of the festival.
