INDESEM (International Design Seminar) 2023 is a biennale hosted at the faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment of the Delft University of Technology. The programme consists of lectures, workshops, excursions and a design competition, all organized around the topic of ‘boundaries’ in the built environment. From regulations to social norms, advancing techanologies to ecological limits, architects are faced with a myriad of factors that shape their designs. INDESEM encourages architects to look beyond the physical and social boundaries of the field, beyond the limits of materials, technological design tools, and ecological constraints and ask: what can we add to these fundamentals? How can we use these boundaries to grow and expand, rather than limit ourselves?
Keynote speakers:
- Jette Cathrin Hopp (Snøhetta)
- Joost Moolhuizen (Renzo Piano Building Workshop)
- Neil Leach (Harvard University)
- Herman Hertzberger (AHH)
- and more T.B.A.
INDESEM ’23 also offers an online interview with Pritzker Prize winning architect Souto the Moura on the theme and his work. The interview is recorded and will be shown to all participants during the seminar.
