University of Texas’ Austin School of Architecture is hosting a lecture with artist and sculptor Jorge Pardo, whose work explores the intersection of contemporary painting, design, sculpture, and architecture. The lecture will be followed by an on-stage conversation with Program Director for Interior Design, Igor Siddiqui.
Pardo’s artwork explores the intersection of contemporary painting, design, sculpture, and architecture. Employing a broad palette of vibrant colors and both natural and industrial materials, Pardo’s works range from murals to furnishings. He often transforms familiar objects into artworks with multiple meanings and purposes, such as a set of lamps displayed as both sources of illumination and as freestanding sculptures.
The lecture with Jorge Pardo will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on March 29th at the Jessen Auditorium. Please note that this is a live event only.
