Join colleagues from the architectural community and expert guest speakers at the 2023 Congress on Architecture in Whistler, BC on October 2-3, for two days of engagement, education and collaboration on a key issue in the profession: how architects and architecture can play a role in addressing the challenges of the climate crisis.
Congress 2023 includes three events:
October 2 – RAIC 2023 Congress on Architecture: This three-part workshop centering Indigenous knowledges and practices is part of the development of a Climate Action Plan, which will act as a roadmap for the RAIC and architectural community’s future actions and response to the climate crisis.
October 2 – World Architecture Day Dinner Reception at the Audain Art Museum: An evening event at the renowned Audain, with special guest speakers John Patkau and David Shone (Patkau Architects) and Stuart Hood (Introba) who will discuss the architectural challenges, design development, and sustainability goals of the building in the context of the demanding requirements for a museum.
October 3 – Low Carbon Education Training Workshop: A FREE day-long workshop on low-carbon principles in architecture, led by key subject-matter experts. This workshop is designed to help upskill architects and others in the architectural community.
The Low Carbon Education Training Workshop is a collaboration with the Canada Green Building Council as part of the Low Carbon Training Program. This program is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Sectoral Workforce Solutions Program.
