Cooper Hewitt is once again bringing design to life through the museum’s 17th annual Design Week. This year’s program welcomes Suzanne Tick, renowned textile designer, weaver, and Creative Director at Luum Textiles, to share her journey in the textile design world in conjunction with the “A Dark, A Light, A Bright: The Designs of Dorothy Liebes” exhibition. In recent news, Suzanne was selected as a 2023 Hall of Fame Inductee.

On Monday, October 2, Suzanne will engage in illustrated conversation with Susan Brown, Cooper Hewitt’s Acting Head of Textiles and co-curator of the exhibition, to delve into her designs, how she has helped build sustainability into the contract textile industry, and how her handweaving practice intersects with her commercial designs. The presentation titled ‘Making Materials Matter’ will be followed by an audience Q&A.
