Belgian designer Joachim Froment’s concept for a sustainable dining/café chair (winner of the Rado Star Prize UK at Designjunction 2017) is only six millimetres thick. Made by pressing a wood veneer and carbon-fibre composite between a two-part mould, it minimizes both the material used and the manufacturing time.
