Milan-based architect and designer Claudio Bellini puts a contemporary spin on the traditional rocking chair with his Abra rocker for Bernhardt Design.
Wanting to maximize comfort within a minimalist design, Claudio Bellini devised Abra with a rounded and enveloping profile that serves to wrap the sitter in its protective cocoon-like structure.
Both ergonomic and elegant, the Abra rocker from Bernhardt Design has a generously padded and supportive seat and cushioned back- and armrests that are perfectly balanced by the gentle curve of the base, which is made from solid oak and left visible for a sophisticated presence. The rocking motion feels natural and inherent, enhancing the feeling of relaxation and contentment.
Dozens of fabrics and leathers in a range of colourways are available for the Abra rocker, and the entire chair can be upholstered with one consistent fabric or with a contrasting seat and back; the exposed perimeter welt can also be matching or contrasting to the overall upholstery. As for the solid oak rocker base, 12 finishes are offered – from natural and warm reds and browns to caramel, smoke, black, whitewashed and more – allowing for project-specific tailoring.
With its sophisticated design, embracing comfort and opportunity for customization, the Abra rocker by Claudio Bellini for Bernhardt Design is suitable for use in a multitude of hospitality and commercial settings as well as in private residences.
